Playing a demented form of disco-trash punk rock, they are ready to rock any disco as long as that disco is either on fire or they are able to purchase enough fire to alight said disco. In Electric Six land, the world is a disco and that disco is on fire. Dick Valentine has an awesome stage presence that I just can't describe. If you ever have a chance to go see this band, you should do it.
Also has a tone that suggests the importance of just being not being afraid to express yourself and be yourself - "Be all that you can be just as long as you are free." Less of a funny song and more of just a fun, happy, celebrative song.Īll in all, there are a lot of references on this album to fire, wars, nuclear wars, techno music, sex, and dancing, for some reason. Synthesizer - A whimsical song about being really passionate about synthesizers and making techno music. Gay Bar - Silly rhymes about going to a Gay Bar. Good for playing at a wild house party with your friends.
The humor that Dick Valentine uses are somewhat similar to Jack Black, goofy, with equal parts of stupidity and whit.ĭanger! High Voltage - Go check out the music video for this. Electric Six is kind of like an indie rock band with a bigger budget and more notoriety than an indie band would typically have. Rock and Disco are present, but then there is also more Electronic than either of those genres usually has, and other instruments that usually aren't used for Rock or Disco are present such as saxophone. The lyrics in this album are very witty, frequently non-sensical, and several genres are represented here. In my opinion, this is Electric Six's best album, so if you are looking to purchase your first E6 album, this is the first one that I recommend you buy, with Switzerland maybe being the second best one.
